Opportunity Available

We are seeking skilled Bookkeepers to join our team of Service Providers supporting social purpose organizations like nonprofits, co-ops, childcare centers, charities, and civil society enterprises, by managing their finances.


Responsibilities

  • Fact-checking accounting information

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process (AR/AP)

  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct ledgers

  • Preparing financial reports by analyzing, collecting, and condensing account trends and information

  • Disseminating reports to necessary staff

  • Reconcile the organization’s financial records to help ensure the accuracy of Financial statements

  • Financial File Organization

  • Payroll

  • GST Reporting

*Responsibilities may differ based on the needs of the organization you are matched with


Skills & Qualifications

  • Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting systems

  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks; experience with other accounting systems

  • Excellent organization, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritize

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Self-starter

  • Experience with social purpose organizations is an asset (nonprofits, co-ops, charities, childcare centres, and civil society organizations)
